Purity Belle Soy Candles, Mothers' Day Gift Ideas and Upcycling

I've been working a lot on my candle stock and shop lately so I thought I'd give a wee update!
Mother's Day is coming up so I have created a section in my shop with some gift ideas - Vintage Tea Cup Candles are always popular so I have made some in different fragrances. I love how pretty they look and also the idea that they are a forever gift, perfect to use once the candle is finished.
Here are some of the teacups available -

I've also reconnected with my love of upcycling - it's pretty much how I started out with my candles and although I've added lots of containers which aren't upcycled, somehow this is always what I come back to.
The benefits of upcyling are huge, instead of something going to landfill or through the process of recycling, it is instead repurposed, so that its life is extended in a new way.  I'm in awe of all the amazing upcyclers out there, it really is an art form and it always amazes me how inventive and creative people are with their projects.
My corner of the upcycling universe is pretty small but I am passionate about it, from simply reusing glass jars to painting tins and cutting bottles, it allows me to experiment and put my own stamp on things and be a bit freer in how I present my candles.
I suppose what is a bit different about my business is how I incorporate upcycling and candle making - candle making is my skill and creating excellent quality candles is always my first priority. Candle making is quite an exact process, temperatures have to be monitored carefully to ensure good blending of scent and a good pour. This in turn leads to a finished candle which burns well and has a good scent throw. It has become a very stable routine for me and what I love about repurposing containers is that I can move away from that routine a bit and personalise and create a finished container which looks pretty and is a little bit different and very much me.

Here are some bottles I finished cutting recently -

And the finished products - I have been toying with the idea of doing some with wine bottle labels still on, so that might be an option in the near future. For the moment though, I'm removing labels and putting my own on, just until I decide how to present alternatives.

And finally, I've been painting tins, I love doing these and decorating with washi tape, I think they go well with shabby chic decor or anywhere really! As with all my candles, they are made with pure soy wax, long lasting and clean burning.
